We are the Society of Urban Legends, an organization duly constituted for a special reason, operating and doing business within the metropolitan territory of the New York City Chapter. We are a select group of inducted Legendary Spies committed in understanding the world around us by looking at the lens of critical theory and a much greater appreciation of moral choices that will fully support the evolution of visual culture, for posterity in general.

In this regard, I am writing to you in secret to inform you that you have been selected from a potential pool of recruits as duly qualified, and worthy enough, to wear and bear the Seal of the Society, to conduct the affairs for and on behalf of the Organization, and to live out the values and charism and to contribute further, for which the several important causes that this Most Honorable Society was duly instituted and vested with competence to excellently strive for.

It is our fervent hope that you will respond to this Summons quite favorably and honorably as we strive to make our Chapter and the rest of the World a much better (and safer) place, and to preserve it from the corruption of the most known Urban legends designed to destroy our common humanity by resorting to their most evil and monstrous ways. By joining our most Prudent Order, you will be favorably involved in several investigations of mysterious (and paranormal) activities that were first entrusted to the founders of this Society, among many other solemn duties, for the future generation to continue without any unnecessary delay.

We wish you well in your future endeavors, and we are looking forward to formally welcoming you in the initiation rights that will immediately follow after the faithful execution and acceptance of this most secretive and purposive Document.
