Chapter Twenty Seven: An Invisible Monster Hanging Upside Down
There was no mistaking about it. It was a legally identified urban legend, a ferocious monster, which was totally dead, bleeding, and severely violated. Some Legendary Spies have called it a shocking way to carry out the Society's mission, a War Crime in principle, and has called its Statesman Council to fully investigate the brutal matter in question.
"There was no mistaking about it," the Supreme Statesman have said without hesitation after making a preliminary assessment. "Whoever did this thing is guilty of so much wrongdoing."
"The manner of death is some piece of work, it quite seems on first glance," one of the Councilman have said in agreement. "It was as dirty as it looks."
The monster was hanging upside down from a sturdy tree in Central Park, obviously devoid of life, and the connection to its Sinister Agent was already disconnected from the main switches of the potential source. The crime scene is very pitiful to behold, a form of severe desecration, and no one in his sane mind would have committed such gruesome effects.
There must be an element hate in this act.
"Who reported this killing?" one of the Councilman has joined the conversation, asking in disbelief. "I wanted to know if a witness saw what actually happened here."
There are a lot of questions needed to be clarified in this investigation to take a glimpse of a fruitful result. Nobody dared say any speculation as the crime scene is being processed, hidden away from the consciousness of the actors nearby.
"Did any actor noticed something suspicious by any chance?"
"No, sir," one of the Legendary Spy on the scene has said. "This was reported to us by an anonymous tipster."
"I see," the Supreme Statesman responded. "Can we track at this point which camera stick was used to carry out such horrendous killing?"
"We are currently investigating all physical evidence, and we will submit a report after the whole scene was processed."
"Yes, of course. It needs time. Thank you very much."
It was a murder of no mercy, as someone poetic would describe it. The monster itself was split in half, and it was bleeding profusely, tied strongly to the branches of the unfortunate tree, deaf and dumb to all the circumstances that happened in its presence; it was so full of hatred and ruthless with all the unnecessary skills used in using excessive force just to slaughter such urban legend.
A possible war crime, indeed. No one else can argue this case otherwise. And someone merciless have done it, roaming the streets of New York City, armed and dangerous; at large.
An enemy within and an enemy without. The deceptive art of war is trully present in all things tactical and deceitful.
