Chapter Three: Linusants
He saw the character creeping through a crowd from the subway, and it caught his attention. When his instincts tell him that something is viciously wrong, it usually is. He immediately proceeded to pursue the Character, in case it is wanting to get involved in some serious trouble.
The Character was able to enter the train in the guise of an old caucasian man without any incident, and he can clearly see the monster's intrinsic physiology from where he was standing. He tried his best to gain entry to the train as well, trying his most effort to conceal his parchment paper from the Actors that are present in the scene. He had memorized the rules of engagement by the letter ever since he accidentally broke it five years ago, and he was determined not to make any erroneous actuations linked to the same document anymore.
The Character seemed to be looking for someone within the crowd, possibly to be a victim for a Sinister Agent that needed his services to gain some intellectual capacity. The need to steal significant soul units (called Linusants -- note by transcriber) responsible for the intelligence quotient was on the rise in the New York City Local Chapter. He was attentively following the Character's every demeanor, and he immediately noticed that the Character was very good in pretending to be a professional in his old age. The Character also looks astoundingly good in his corporate attire, and may easily pass as an esquire working for the big guns in Manhattan.
The old man exited the train in 5th Avenue - 59th Street station joining a handful of people; the Anti-Plagiarist immediately followed him on the way but kept his distance in case the monster senses something suspicious. His right hand was firmly clutching his fountain pen from his pocket, ready to take defensive action in case the situation warrants it.
The monster suddenly turned to proceed to the length of 5th Avenue, for no obvious reason, and he is quite sure that the Character sensed his presence, no matter how hard he tried to conceal the presence of his identity. He immediately closed in on him, and asked in a very polite way on where he was headed. The old man simply faced him like a robot, and gave no audible response.
"What do you want? Why are you here?" the Anti-Plagiarist asked again.
The Character smiled wildly and started to laugh. There was no other answer to be extracted. His eyes looked so much dead than necessary by comparison, and he was swiftly becoming physically unyoung as the moment passed them by.
The Sinister Agent who was controlling the monster has abandoned him. This unsuspecting Character has been conveniently led to his own demise.
"I need information to defeat the Dangerous Rhetoric. Help me," the Anti-Plagiarist said softly. The tone was very imploring. "Give me a relevant answer."
The Character stopped its robotic laugh, as if he had fully comprehended what the Anti-Plagiarist means by his simple request. But maybe he did after all, with exception under the present circumstances. The magic of words is universal, and it may have penetrated his own being even though he lacks the heart to fully understand the wisdom to be gained from the horrors of one's own suffering.
"Linusants," he said weakly.
"What is that?"
The monster laughed louder than usual. The reply disappeared with the laugh and was completely inaudible.
"The Dangerous Rhetoric has led you to this," the Anti-Plagiarist simply added. "I cannot let it pass. Forgive me for what will happen next."
After making sure that no Actors are within visible range, he took out his fountain pen and the parchment paper to do what was inevitable.
With some sort of regret, he was able to do what he needed to do; the daggers from the weapon hit the monster in the torso area. After a brief moment from the contact, the Character simply vanished from sight as if nothing ever happened.
