Chapter Nineteen: Crucial Meeting

Ben Churchston, the Nodal Guard, immediately began his predestined duty to find the complete Roster of Anti-Plagiarists, in order to commence the rescue mission initiated for the same noble purpose. However, the Records Officer whom he had the pleasure of communicating with across time, and within the several time capsules was already dead.

The news came to him as a shock, since he had been getting his information in this dimension from the Records Officer in question. It was not too long before he realized that he had walked right into a trap.

Abruptly upon his arrival, he proceeded to the location that the Records Officer has told him in a letter of instruction, very carefully laying down the conditions in which he must operate so as not to risk his own person being found by the Legendary Spies. He did everything he could to follow all the instructions that was sent to him, only to end up being in this predetermined trap that was set up for him.

He has made a terrible mistake. It was so silly of him.

Someone has put his arms around his shoulder. He felt a cold shiver of fear.

"Do not move," the voice said to him.

"Who are you?" Ben asked the person who is now beside him.

"I have told you everything about the Records Officer. You have walked right into a trap," the person replied. "They will not let you live. Listen to me carefully."

"Okay, I am listening," Ben said.

"I am an Anti-Plagiarist myself. As a Nodal Guard of the Imperial Synod, you have automatically been declared a public enemy. Right now, all the crimes of President Algebra are all the things that has been considered following this declaration. A shoot-to-kill order has been carried out in the General Orders, and it is quite evident that this rescue mission initiated by the Renaissance has been condemned to fail a long time prior. Hatred has set the tone."

"Go on," Ben said, nodding.

"I will arrest you for now, but I will allow you to escape. They have a secretive Alliance with urban legends, as well, so we have to stage this escape quite realistically. I presume that you are well versed with combat?"

"Yes."

"I will meet you in another place and in another time once this trap has been unsuccessful. This is covered by the impossible bond, so you know what is at stake on my side. Both of our lives are in grave danger. You get what I mean?"

"I understand."

"Good. Now, you are under arrest."
