Chapter Seventeen: Voices

"Who are you? Speak!"

She was a Legendary Spy, and a very capable one, a talented wielder of the Projector Swords, a slayer of nightmares, and evils, and the perils associated with the abuse of those who ultimately became the rogue Playwrights.

It was beautiful once before, when the Agreements were used for the greater common good, to correct what was wrong through an oversight, to curtail the pain of past errors, and to save what was left from the ashes of fiery desires that led to the many countless crimes.

In short, playwriting was too dangerous to have been allowed without proper authorizations in the first place, until the time came when it was too late to reverse the identified political shortcomings in the wholy identified systemic problems. The art was totally exploited, including its full potential that nobody would dare contradict, a fact that now lives on to be the main vulnerability unwillingly attached to the Literary Committee.

Even in the minds of too many, and up till now, Playwriting represents the hypocrisy of the Literary movement.

Tonight, she was hearing these same voices again, and she knows that these things are coming from her Projector Sword. She has always been silent about her political leanings, so she was not very conscious in deciphering the projections made by her sword. She does not care. But the more she was trying to avoid listening to the strange voices in her head, the more it was trying to break into her consciousness, as if desperately.

Also, longing.

There was a nagging feeling about the whole annoying process she was being coerced to go through, and her subconscious was making it worse by not helping her present psychological being neither.

It was in the form of extreme desire, an impetus that simply refuses to be identified.

She was Jane Worchenz, after all. Tough. Great. Benevolent. Skilled. This, too, shall pass.

She cannot be destroyed by a simple ploy of obvious manipulation. She has always been ready to confront the enemy and this latest challenge to her skills is nothing foreign. It may come to be an ugly fight, but she will emerge triumphant in the end.

They will regret this audacious attempt to be messing up with her own people.
