Chapter Six: The Search for the Unwanted Signal
The Legendary Spy named Avila Edwards was feeling something odd, an evil vibration that was intruding the serenity of her thoughts, which never seem to go away. For her, it was an unwanted guest that do not wish to leave upon notice, and she has no complete idea what the signal was trying to tell her, whether it was a call for help, a distress signal, or maybe a cosmic power that is disturbing to give her a clue to the many secrets of the universe.
There was, indeed, a disturbing signal, and it usually happens during her battle instinct, especially when she needed to use her camera stick for something important, like in defending herself, to neutralize a characteristic monster, or if she needed to simply practice her skills. But especially in practicing her skills.
At first, her projector sword emits a different light of red, something that is very peculiar within the ranks of the Most Gallant Society and an uncommon phenomenon. Albeit the weirdness was duly noted, no Legendary Spy was alerted as to the meaning of this disparity, and was simply shrugged-off to be a simple matter of trivial concern.
But this was an error blindly committed by the leadership, because there was indeed a signal from the future, asking for more information about the philosophical foundations of the misery of the human condition. The signal is not a simple whim, but a matter of emergency and a concern that depends upon it the meaning of life and the defense of living out the impact of a noble purpose.
There was nothing special reported about this projector sword, as earlier stated, except that it was recognized to be a class of its own, a sui generis, and that nothing of importance was transcribed into the records, whether contained in a classified folder or simply "an open report of a peculiarity happening."
Even Avila herself was not interested with this projector sword, because no matter how many times she has changed and switched her camera stick, the same projected reel was protruding from it, many of them are vague moving images with that same distinct red-blood color.
In principle, the camera sticks do not have a mind of its own, but the reels and the images from which the sword borrows its utility comes from the inner most workings of the soul, and therefore projected known to be the "reels of internal experiences." Since the soul borrows from outside experiences, the camera sticks generally encrypts the "living film" and then becomes subdued to the energy of the "living world."
It cannot be denied the ramifications brought about by this oversight, because of the many things that were produced by the universe comes from the living "energies" emitting from the mysterious impetus of life. A life must be lived in a specific way, and the more it was intelligently lived, the more the experiences becomes powerful.
And this is where the paradox lies: the future needs the past for the lessons to be derived therefrom, while the past simply looks forward for a better future.
