Chapter Eight: An Abandoned Camera Stick

The Most Gallant Society of Urban Legend Spies Pte. Ltd. has its own strict rules regarding owning and maintaining a distinct kind of weaponry issued by the Standing Section of Devoted Warfare, especially those pertaining to the expertise for the Camera Sticks and the Projector Swords.

Although there are other types of weapons being issued by the Devoted Warfare, the Projector Swords are simply being accorded with strict monitoring policies, primarily because of its importance to the Society's competitive advantage to protect it from undue efforts to reverse engineer its secrets so that the underlying technology of its use "must not be obtained by the enemy or the several others with a poisonous motive."

So it is very customary for the Standing Section to employ a register from where each camera stick is to be issued, to whom and obtain the name of the issue, and the corresponding circumstances (referred to in the registry as "Confidence") that such issuance was being made.

Among the many security features of the Camera Stick involves a very secret tracking system, the identification of the motive of the projector sword, the universal solution of the projector's speed of light, and the force of the supply of power, known to the Legendary Spies as "units of newtons."

During the acceptance of the Diaspora into the Society, the Anti-Plagiarists themselves have committed to safeguard their own weaponry, too. Although their population is progressively declining as periods of time has passed, in a certain time they have agreed to form the Diaspora Council to tend to the affairs of the usage of their Parchment Papers.

With that said, it is duty-bound for any Legendary Spy to report to the Standing Section of Devoted Warfare at once, when their Camera Sticks were lost or stolen, or if it was forcibly taken, for the Society "to immediately release it from its official efficacy by self-destruction."

It does not happen very often, but during that day, a Dispatch Officer of the Devoted Warfare received a call about an "abandoned camera stick." When being questioned regarding the suspicious call, the person at the other end of the line was not a registered Legendary Spy nor an Anti-Plagiarist. But it was very odd that the person knew so many things about the intricate processes within the Most Gallant Society.

"May I know who is on the line, please?" the Dispatch Officer asked.

"My name is not important at this point but you have to listen very carefully to what I am saying. A camera stick was abandoned here, near Times Square. You must come immediately. Now."

He then hung up. It was Angel Adamus speaking.
